Facial Fillers

Facial Fillers can be divided into dermal and volumiser fillers. Dermal fillers are the original type fillers; such as Restylane and Juvederm that create volume passively, and Volumisers are a new breed of fillers that create volume and lift by active collagen stimulation.

Soft tissue augmentation continues to be one of the most popular procedures performed by doctors today. Fillers offer a safe and convenient method of rejuvenating the aging face. These products have grown in popularity among younger individuals who prefer to intervene at an early stage, and continue to be popular alternatives to face lifts in older women and men. Fillers can provide outstanding immediate cosmetic results without the downtime associated with traditional surgical procedures and are used to improve the appearance of fine lines, enhance the fullness of the lips and for facial contouring

The use of fillers for subcutaneous augmentation is safe, effective, and convenient and most of these can be administered on the day of consultation. They can be used alone or in combination with other procedures such as Botox.

Dermal fillers are usually not sufficient for deeper folds in the face which are more effectively treated using volumisation fillers.

The procedure itself usually takes 30 minutes and once completed you will be given some aftercare instructions and asked to return in 2 weeks for an aesthetic review. Should you require more volume or filler it is best to schedule this over a period of time to achieve a good result with subtle enhancement. Too much filler in one session may cause excessive bruising, irregularities and a poor result.
